The
client moved into a new home in a new development, with basic developer's
landscaping that did not suit the family. We redesigned the gardens front and back,
with a set of steps leading to the rear.
The plantings were designed for the
south-facing garden and to deter a hungry local deer population. The
ornamental grasses, heathers and perennials are doing the job. The steps,
with fencing and plantings, are comfortable to use and look attractive |

The
clients wanted a garden renovation with a new entrance and patio,
planting, fencing, irrigation system, and a water feature. The existing lawn was unhealthy. And the
rear garden was unusable.
All areas of this garden have been
renovated. The front garden has a new paver entrance, with arbor and gates
to the side and rear areas. A new lawn was installed with full irrigation
and perimeter plantings. With a low lattice design, the fence safely
contains children and pets. The rear garden area has a new patio with a
water feature. |

The
owners had a typical suburban back garden terrace that was poorly built.
When we first consulted with them, it was literally falling down. The clients needed a new terrace with
additional features.
We designed a new terrace, including a
pleasing S curve and rounded steps for added interest. A
significant improvement is the addition of a charming water feature. Bricklok Surfacing was the landscaping
contractor. |

The
clients had just bought a new ocean-side house but had nowhere to sit and
enjoy the view. The front entrance area had a narrow concrete path with
poorly constructed steps. We needed to create a more pleasing entrance
and front patio area.
We tore up and removed
the old concrete walk, and built this generous patio entrance with new
wide steps. The spacious seating
area is comfortable for viewing the ocean on a warm day |

The
client had an awkward below street-level garden/entrance to the house, a
sloping walk, and with unattractive plantings. Our task was to create a
welcoming entrance and a usable outdoor space. As the house entrance is a south facing
aspect, it was the only sunny area available, so we wanted to give the
client a sitting area.
Our solution was to remove the sidewalk,
lawn, and plants. We built a new paver patio to take up most of the
space, then added a water feature and new plants. The result was a pleasing entrance with
sunny patio and privacy from the street. It was a practical solution to
a complex problem. |

Our client had just purchased this attractive house but was unhappy with the front and rear landscaping.
The previous owner had created a cluttered and messy look at the front. The request was for
Fine Gardens to develop an attractive entrance and to tidy
both front and back areas.
The challenge with this front yard was to decide if any of the shrubs had value and to create a simplified, tidy design.
The best shrubs and trees were placed in new planting areas which were
then defined with rock walls. We saved the client a major expense by using
the best shrubs from the existing landscaping. The garden was completed
with a new lawn. |
